I finished my first full sized modern quilt. It is soft, cozy, lovable, wonderful and I am still having a very hard time with the fact that I *must* give it away. I love the fabric. I love the flannel back with just a bit of the stripes from the front making their appearance at the edge. I love that with the exception of one border, the whole dang thing came straight from my stash.
Now, many many quilters are here on the internet, and I am awed by the talent. I am not going to say this quilt turned out perfectly. There is a rough spot on the binding. There is a sewn in wrinkle on the back. It would not pass for a perfectly rectangular quilt.
This quilt does, however, keep toes warm and I quilted in quite a bit of love. I hope it will take my love safely to its new home.
Merry Christmas, Kimber!

Loving the curvy white part. Cute!!!
So very beautiful. I don’t know why but it reminds me of a page from memoirs of a giesha…..(not sure if you have read/or seen it) but the part where they are admiring the cherry blossoms. It screams Japan and Cherry blossoms to me.
