I love photographing my quilts. The problem is, I hate photographing almost-finished quilts. So this week, I am so thrilled to present to you my finished project from last week! You may remember this quilt from way back here, and it has been basted together for months. Now, it is a full fledged quilt!
I needed my basting pins so I can get my Single Girl quilt sandwiched and quilted. I only have enough basting pins to have one quilt basted at a time, so this little lap-sized lady had to be finished up. And it seems a shame to wait to bind it until after my Single Girl is quilted, so during a ‘Master Chef’ marathon, I slapped some Moda Grunge Binding on it and called it done!
I pieced this completely from my stash, with the exception of the back, which is a 200 TC Cotton sheet purchased at WalMart for $4. My goal was to use my stash entirely, but I didn’t have anything even remotely like this fabric line in my collection of fabric.
While I don’t love this quilt the way a quilt ought to be loved, I really enjoyed the process of making it. For the quilting, I just ‘drew’ little flowers inside of the small squares. Then, I turned to my trusty walking foot and outlined the squares. All the turning nearly made me crazy, but I love how it looks! To finish it (And because I like crinkly quilts) I quilted on the diagonal.
And now, I am all ready to baste and quilt my Single Girl! I just have to mop the floor. Boo. In the meantime, I am starting a new project.
I am LOVING using up all of my scraps!
How about you? Have you finished anything fun this week?

Your finished quilt looks fab and the lovely scrapiness at the bottom of the post looks really interesting. Will be great to see how this ends up.

I really like your quilt, poor unloved quilty that it is. Good luck with SG. She’ll be gorgeous for sure! You are putting your dear ol’ mama to shame. Still, I can be envious and proud at the same time. Nicely done!
And the “target” is scrappily wonderful!

Finishing a quilt always feels so good! You need to get with the spray basting program though so that you can have more than on quilt basting and hiding in your closet at a time.
I finished washing all the Prince Charming and that little circle of yours is motivating me to cut it up and use it!
