Are you going to Sewing Summit this year? I am so excited to go! Last year I felt like I was slogging through my first trimester haze the entire time and it was still SO much fun. Erin and Ali and the gang have put together an even more fun, more amazing line up this year. And I am already finding inspiration in the google group!
Mary (I think?) mentioned she wanted to learn scant 1/4″ seams and curves during the conference and this pattern immediately hopped into my head.
I couldn’t sleep for thinking about it, so I got up and stitched most of the night. Then, woke up with my littles and started stitching again. I am so happy with this quilt. The curves are straightforward and forgiving and the simple patchwork can be perhaps the most challenging part of making a quilt. But the results are always so worth it.
I’m already envisioning making another one with our new Bella fabrics. And I know I am going to love it.
If you are coming to Sewing Summit and want to learn what a scant 1/4″ means to me or how I do my curves without fancy feet, I’ll be in the sewing room about 6ish before the SLMQG Bash on Friday Night and I’d be happy to show you how to make a little quilty like this 🙂 It will be pretty informal. I think one of the best parts of Sewing Summit last year was all of the sharing of ideas and inspiration that went on in the hall ways. I can’t wait to be a part of that again this year!
Up next, Tula Pink‘s Alphabet Quilt for the Tula Pink-along at Sew Sweetness. Drop by Sara’s blog for the full details. In the meanwhile, I’ll be playing with this lovely little stack
If you hurry, all of Tula’s patterns are 25% off through Monday with the code ‘tulatroop’. I am having trouble limiting it to just a couple, so don’t miss it!

I have wanted to go to Sewing Summit the past two years….maybe next year. I love your quilt and can’t wait to see what you make with Field Study. I am going to make my mom a quilt with the Field Study (i bought from Westwood Acres) but am having a hard time deciding on a pattern (so typical of me). Have a fun weekend!!
