Heffalumps and Woozles

April 2, 2012

So, for anyone who doesn’t know what this post title is all about, I am a little jealous. My little girl watches the ‘Sing Along with Pooh Bear’ dvd as often as I’ll let her and this song has been stuck in my head. For days. Days that I am spending patiently waiting for a certain little boy to arrive. And frantically trying to finish things up.

One of the projects I had put off for far too long was his special blanket. When I was expecting Abby, I made her a blanket and purchased a softie that I hoped would be comforts to her. And they have performed admirably.

So, I wanted to do the same for this little one. I purchased this elephant weeks ago, but the blanket sat unfinished for literally months. And then this week it seems I realized that this is really going to happen and soon! So, I got myself up to the yarn store and picked up this lovely navy blue lash yarn. The flannel fabric on the front is Valori Wells Karavan and the back is supersoft Ruby flannel from Bonnie and Camille. It is *SO* soft.

And then, I needed to finish up my pillow for Kerri. I am so thrilled with how it turned out, but still nervous to send it to her! This little red riding hood is so dang cute, but I always worry I miss the mark on swaps…

But, hopefully she will be loved and fit in on Kerri’s couch.

And with any luck, my next post won’t have any quilty or crafty goodness at all, but will be full of healthy, chubby cheeks. I seriously can’t wait to meet this little guy!

PS: If you want a chance to win some gorgeous Flea Market Fancy, head on over to Wendi’s two year blogiversary party! Congrats, Wendi (aka ‘my mom’) on two YEARS of blogging!

If that is for the “Lovely Little Handmades” Kerri then I would say you’ve got it *exactly* right! I do know what you mean though – swaps make me ridiculously nervous and stressed!
