Catching Up and The Quilt Market Giveaway

May 27, 2013

Thank you so much for all of the support of our little shop this weekend! It has been hopping over here, but there are still lots of fun items in our sale section 🙂 The sale prices will be good through tonight, if you have your eye on anything.

To finish up my reporting on quilt market (because I have a couple of projects I want to show off this week!) I want to mention a couple of reprints that are on their way this summer. The first to arrive will be Amy Butler’s Belle line. I know that this line is what brought a lot of people into the crafting industry several years ago, and it has gotten nearly impossible to find even small pieces. I’m glad it will be back again. The Corianders and French Wallpapers (just to name a few) are going to make a lot of people really happy! These are due out in June.

Also being reprinted as a mash-up are the Garden Party and Drawing Room prints from Anna Maria Horner. These are GORGEOUS. Social Climbers (the climbing roses), the famous sketchbook print, book volumes, and the centerpiece prints will all be available again. And the always generous Anna Maria Horner has also released another pretty free pattern entitled ‘Mother Goose’. She included a copy in her quilt market brochure so one lucky person today will be the first to have it! I believe she’ll be releasing it on her patterns site soon-ish.

You will find these in my shop in July. We aren’t planning to take pre-orders, but if this is one you are considering ordering, leave me a note and I will put your name on our list.

Two of my favorite booths were both put together by a couple of fabulous Portland girls. First, there is Waterfront Park which arrives in July (I think?!)
Day 1-81
This line is absolutely fabulous! You’ll find architectural prints for bridges, her new fabulous domino dots, and the bird print is going to be a new staple in my stash. I fell hard for Violet Craft’s first line, Peacock Lane, and each range since has had me from hello!
Waterfront Park

The other booth that must be mentioned is Mo Bedell’s presentation of Full Moon Lagoon. This has probably been our best seller in our shop over the last month or so and it is my husband’s favorite (And with all that pink, that’s saying something!)
Day 1-26
Each piece in her booth was so detailed, it was so fun to look at (And look at and look at…) I’m glad we were able to get a few pictures of her upcoming Hothouse Flowers line as well. It looks really exciting! I’m loving the addition of the navy blue (are you noticing navy blue is popping up everywhere?)

Lastly, let’s do a super quick run through of the Art Gallery Booth.
My creation
Art Gallery seems to be showing their softer side with their new designers. There are many more muted hues than in the past, and I am loving it! I really adore the new Tule range from Leah Duncan and the new line from brand new designer Bonnie Christine is stunning. I am so glad to see this brand really branching out.

Jeni Baker also debuted her Nordika line, which caught my eye. After seeing swatches online, I was a little hesitant, but this is one of those lines that looks amazing all stitched up. I love when that happens!

So, that’s it. There are so many more photos in my flickr photostream that I can’t share all of them here, but I think I’ve shown off most of my favorite booths. Feel free to go explore the other photos if you are looking for anything else specific!

Now, on to the giveaway!
QM givaway
I came home with so many great kits, patterns and samples, and I thought it would be good to share. Hopefully, you agree! To have this bundle arrive on your doorstep, just leave me a comment on facebook letting me know which new fabric you are most excited about. I know how hard it is to choose! I think I am really looking forward to Tule by Leah Duncan, but Briar Rose, Technicolor, Anna Maria Horner, and Acacia are all tempting me, too!

Thanks for another great quilt market round up – lovely pics! I’ve almost given up on trying to keep up with the latest collections as I can buy fabric far more quickly than I ever get anything created and my stash has got out of hand, lol. Of course I am drooling over Acacia, Briar Rose, Collage and Barcelona in particular. Maybe, just maybe………
