Clean Slate

January 3, 2013

10 Organized Drawers
9 Spools of Thread that don’t have a home
8 Hours of Could’ve-Been-Sewing Time

7 Degrees Outside
6 Newly Discovered Unfinished Quilts (whoops!)
5 Bags of scraps on their way to a new home

4 Hours of ‘The Avett Brothers station on Pandora (I and Love and You could play on repeat and I’d be a happy camper)

3 Pounds of The Birds and The Bees off off and away(parting is such sweet sorrow)

2 Silly Helpers

1 Room Ready for 2013

I think it’s time to go make a mess 😉

PS: I’m having a little giveaway on Facebook to celebrate the arrival of this gorgeous fabric in our little shop. Maybe Spring is just around the corner after all…

PPS: I am linking up with The Organizing Junkie’s Weekly challenge. I don’t have paper messes anywhere (those stay pretty organized) but I consider this space my ‘office’ 🙂

Such a pretty space!! I need to do a big organize day but I’m waiting until I get my own “new” sewing room this year!

What a lovely space you have! Thanks for sharing the reality… I think most of our spaces look like that more often than not. LOL

Wow, what a cleaning spree! I had a similar spree here the other day… I definitely need a better fabric and yarn storage solution!

Its so much easier to be messy but definitely more productivity when you can easily find everything that you need. I myself am constantly unorganizing and reorganizing my sewing room. If only I had a maid 🙂

I really need one of those thread holders for the wall. Right now I have the ‘cupboard under the stairs’ as my sewing closet. But the tiny space has reached max capacity and any more ‘crap’ in there will make it so I can’t close the door. My machine is on a small sewing desk in the living room. One item on my New Year’s Resolution To-Do-List (12 items I want to accomplish this year) is to not buy anything new this year. Hopefully I can weed out the closet by a lot. 🙂

An annoying and hard job, but job well done! What is on the upper shelf above your desk?

There is nothing better than well organized sewing space wether it is a room, a table in a corner, or storage in a closet. The only problem is I would rather spend the time sewing and quilting!

i, too, always think of the time spent cleaning is lost sewing time but it is hard to sew efficiently when it looks like a fabric explosion. You have a happy sewing space and i love your sewing machine!
