With A Little Help From My Friends…

March 22, 2012

I am going to make it these last two weeks. This little soccer player I am carrying makes walking (waddling) pretty dang uncomfortable. Checking the mail has become my go-to outing and I have some amazing friends who have made my entire week! First, I have to thank my friend Fiona from Poppy Makes for humoring this crazy girl and forwarding this gorgeous butter dish to me

Thank you, Fiona! I love it tons (And I love your hopscotch quilt!)

Then, today’s mail brought me this beautiful pillow from Kerri over at LovelyLittleHandmades. Her blog is full of gorgeous eyecandy, but do I dare say this is my favorite thing she has ever made? It is a blessing to love the things you have, and I love that I have a beautiful pillow and a lovely new friend! I will post my half of the swap this weekend, I expect. Needless to say, it involves a bit of handwork as I am spending quite a lot of time couch-sitting.
A-May-Zing Pillow from Kerri!
The colors, the binding, all of it just makes me giddy with glee! Thank you, Kerri, for making (and parting with) such a beautiful pillow cover!

Lastly, I thought I would show you a finished quilt (yay!). As part of my finishing up UFOs in 2012, I can officially check my ‘Web of {Butter} Flies’ quilt off my list!
My finished quilt

I love it and might struggle to part with it. For the back, I found this super soft Anna Maria Horner Flannel on sale at a LQS for half off. It is just so cuddly. I may need to go back and buy the rest of the bolt to back a quilt for me.
Quilt Back

Any finishes or fun mail in your neck of the woods? Would love to know! (share a linky, pretty please? I am loving reading all of the fun blogs I discover through my comments!)

PS: I am linking up to Finish It Up Friday over at Crazy Mom Quilts!

What a nice post! And lovely little goodies you have received. I just love your web of butterflies quilt. It’s really unique. I’ve been doing scrap projects lately and have actually been able to crank out quite a few. Here’s my most recent: http://craftingdotdotdot.blogspot.ca/2012/03/scraps-attack-again-last-time-for-now.html

Love your Web of Butterflies quilt. Gorgeous. My last finish was a Hoopla pinwheel quilt to donate to the opera. It is bright and cheerful, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Love your new pillow too, although I read about it on Kerri’s blog first. Too fun!

Love that web of butterflies! And you are right about the AMH flannel – it is the absolute best for backing: so cuddly!

Love your butter dish and love your quilt. Wouldn’t blame you at all if you bought the rest of that flannel. If it’s half as snuggly as it is gorgeous, I’d do the same.
