Look what happened overnight! Fall arrived in all the glory poets write about. With crisp mornings and warm afternoons, autumn claims the spot as my absolute favorite season! If you’ve followed my happiness project, you’ll know how grateful I am to have some of my creativity back. It’s so fun to have ideas again and make them reality! Do you ever feel like something you look at every day has potential, but you aren’t sure what to do with it?
While cutting Liberty bundles for our Give Me Liberty Club this month, the idea for this little clutch popped into my head. Pinterest keeps telling me how cool ‘clutches’ are this season and I love that this one is just big enough to fit a small journal, my phone and a few personal items. It might become my most used bag for the season.
This clutch uses exactly two fat sixteenths from our Liberty club and a small leather scrap (6″ x 10″). I put together a tutorial for assembling this little clutch with beautiful finishing touches like leather zipper tabs & an elegant liberty lawn lining.
I love this Liberty Lawn print. It’s beautiful, detailed, and bright, all the things I really love about Liberty’s style. I picked up a scrap of leather awhile ago from Tandy leather. The combination of delicate florals & rugged leather caught my interest and won’t let go!
Making this pouch took about 20 minutes, start to finish. Pretty much the perfect amount of time for thoughtful, handmade Christmas gifts that don’t break the bank. Our Liberty club includes 10 pieces each month so you could make 5 unique lined pouches for just $24 plus some scrap leather and zippers.
If you’d like to watch the tutorial and download the FREE pattern, I’ve got every step & tip recorded here. Being on Youtube was a lot scary at first, but sometimes we’ve got to reach beyond our comfort zone if we want to share, don’t you think?
What do you think? Are clutches a yay or nay in your book? At first, they seemed a little small, but now I’m in love! And if you are missing journaling prompts, here is my thought for today:
Let your imagination loose. Creativity is healing to the soul. And it doesn’t have to be sewing, or crafting, it can be communicating with someone differently than in the past or mixing up an old recipe with a cool, new ingredient. You just might create something you didn’t know you couldn’t live without!
I also thought that with all the pretty pictures, I should show a few ‘real life pictures’. That’s my adorable little helper. Can you even believe how big she’s grown?!
If you like this idea, I’d love if you’d pin it for the future! This project works perfectly for beginners! The pattern is free to download HERE.
As always, thank you for reading my little blog. I have a few fun things to share this week and I can’t even wait!
PS: I found a similar top to mine on sale for $25 with the coupon FLASH! I’m so excited I just have to share :0) You can find it here. (affiliate link)

I love your top! And your adorable munchkin! And the idea that creativity can simply be a new way of expressing yourself. When life gets super busy and borderline spinning-out-of-control, I like thinking that the simple act of expressing myself differently can use all the creative juices I’ve been storing up.
As always, this was so well written!
Love, Arielle
