Cherry Blossom Bright

April 3, 2016

Red Letter Day Quilt at A Crafty Fox (Click for Binding Tips!)

I’ve always wanted to go to Washington DC to see the cherry blossoms. Luckily, here in Utah, we have gorgeous cherry blossoms of our own up at the capitol. And since I FINALLY finished this quilt (according to IG, I started it & had the top done 101 weeks ago!)  I thought it deserved to be documented properly.

Red Letter Day Quilt at A Crafty Fox BlogSo this weekend, we made the pilgrimage to see them blooming. And I brought along my JUST finished Red Letter Day quilt because quilts and flowers together are perfection!

There is something special about combining something as short lived & fragile as a cherry blossom with the heirloom, lasting quality of the quilt. I don’t think hanging quilts from trees is too unusual, do you?

No trees or blossoms were injured for this photo. We made sure to pick a tree that didn’t have blossoms down this low.

I wish these pretty blooms would last, but sadly, but the time this post goes live they will most likely have faded. What a blessing that they’ll be back and just as pretty next year!

Now, if you need me, you can find me curled up on the couch reading something (probably this) and curled up under my new {favorite!} quilt!

Such a beautiful and serene photo spot. And the quilt is gorgeous. I love the color reverse in the center square.

Beautiful quilt and what a stunning scene to take pics in. You probably noticed the two ”oops” blocks in the pink block?

It really wasn’t necessary to point that out, was it?
