It has felt a bit like I’ve been running flat out for awhile. Perhaps it was the holidays. Or maybe it’s adding a third joy-filled baby girl to our family. It could be our little shop is not as little as it once was, and I still can’t get enough of it. So I’m going to be real. Running a business out of your home with three small children underfoot can be a challenge. I wouldn’t trade one single moment, but I won’t let a single minute go to waste, either. This year, after the last package was mailed out on Christmas Eve, we locked our phones in the safe, tucked our laptops under the bed and focused on what really matters the most.
The experience was priceless. My children are FUN. We had a blast. We played with trains, decorated cookies, learned to make favorite recipes all over again, wrapped gifts, watched all of our favorite Christmas movies and used our ‘real’ camera. For four days, we focused just on each other. And I fell in love with my family all over again.
I wanted to write this down. My blog is such a tangible way for me to remember things. I miss that. And I regret so many posts I didn’t write. So even though this is late and Christmas is long over, I wanted to share. And maybe on a weekend sometime soon, we’ll try unplugging again. Because celebrating our family should be a year-round tradition.
From our family to yours, we are wishing you a very Happy (and belated!) New Year!

Such a great post…I’ve been thinking along the same lines lately…I need to “unplug” but have such a hard time doing it sometimes!
Enjoy your beautiful family!
