Lovely Little Patchwork by Kerri Horsley: A Book Review & Giveaway!

April 6, 2016

Recently, I received a copy of the beautiful new book Lovely Little Patchwork: 18 Projects to Sew Through the Seasons by Kerri Horsley to review. I had been excited for this release since Kerri mentioned to me that she was writing a book (nearly a year ago!) and I could not be happier with the product she has created. It is stunning!Blog Lovely Little Patchwork - 6

The theme of the book centers on small projects to create for your home for each season. Being a Florida girl living in Utah, season are something I never take for granted. Each one seems like a small miracle and I love bringing a little bit of the season indoors. This book is PERFECT for that!
Blog Lovely Little Patchwork - 2
There are at least five projects in this book that I want to make, so that makes it a pretty good buy in my book {hahaha, see what I did there. I am such a nerd!} They are:
The Cross Stitch Sewing Book (already started!)
Strawberry Backpack
Nautical Sailboat Pillow (I want to make one in girly colors and one in traditional nautical colors for my littles’ room)
The Apple Tree Pillow
and the Pretty Pinwheels on Point Quilt.

Blog Lovely Little Patchwork - 5
Oh, and the Ice Skating Girl Pillow. So make that six projects I must make! There are so many more that are adorable and I might adapt into something else (like the tulip table runner on the cover, wouldn’t that make a cute quilt if you made extra and added sashing?!)
Blog Lovely Little Patchwork - 1
I’ve started working on my cross stitch sewing book and the pattern is clear and easy to follow. How pretty is that cross stitch rose on quilting cotton in the center? I didn’t have any gingham the right size handy, so I just used a ruler and marked lines 1/8″ apart and it worked terrifically well. This might be a technique I use again in the future!Blog Lovely Little Patchwork - 2

I would rate this as one of the best books I have added to my collection in the past year or two. I highly recommend it and I think it is a great value for the projects included as well as something pretty to browse and seek inspiration from.  You can find this pretty book here!
