I got an email from a concerned reader about this happiness project I’m sharing. The concern is that those with mental health issues will pursue this meditation project instead of seeing a professional. I’d like to make it clear – if you struggle with medical issues, if you are considering doing yourself harm, please reach out to a trained professional immediately. You are not alone. These are not feelings to be ashamed of (remember my post on shame? and being vulnerable?)
This project is a series of 31 anecdotes & meditation prompts. This is my ‘toolbox’ of coping mechanisms, the path I’ve walked, if you will. The answers I found from these prompts are what have helped me. Do not feel like you need to do these things at the pace I’ve set, or at all. But I’ve found hope through forgiveness, faith, vulnerability, & getting outside myself. One of the biggest issues I confronted was seeing myself as worthless – as completely and totally less than anyone else around me. As undeserving and unlovable.
Once I realized that this was an issue, I began trying to quiet the negative thoughts in my head. To start my mind was chaotic so I used the guided section on the insight timer app to direct where my thoughts went. I found meditation gave me the time to quiet my mind and get to know my own thoughts again. And guess what? I feel creative again. I have ideas. I have the time to realign my behavior with my goals.
I now meditate regularly and have found great peace and relief through the time I spend pausing, breathing, and learning what is inside me that makes me unique. I’m learning to like myself again. And that has been a truly wonderful thing for me.
Day 13 – #31daystohappy
pause. breathe. pick a favorite meditation and allow yourself to relax for just a bit.
I have found this habit has helped bring more peace into my life. It helps me channel my energy into positive thoughts and away from thoughts that are destructive.
Thank you for following on my journey!

I enjoyed your post today. Nothing wrong with showing your faith. It would be wonderful for you to start each day with a faith post and then follow with something about quilting or your day. A welcomed change to other blogs. It will make yours a little different from the others. Blessings my friend I have enhoyed your blog. Mary in sunny Florida

I suffer quite a bit, as I wrote earlier , but I believe your posts are wonderful and working towards happy peaceful days helps regardless if you are on medicine for a lifetime or just a short period of time.
Thank you again!
Meditation is awesome!
